Ripley's tour SA..

We had a Ripley's believe it or not here at a mall close by all the way from America, we did the whole tour, not all is so cool. i personally found many things a bit evil. But here was interesting stations! 

Fattest man in the world. And yes my hair is dark brown! Went foe a makeover!

Sensitive matter.

I have been little scarce on the blog, but not so long ago we have found out very bad news. My husbands dad has been diagnosed with cancer, and it struck us all very bad, it was a time that stood still. We didn't know what was going on and what was going to happen, it was such a raw time in our family.

We had to take time to accept what was happening and pray pray pray a lot. We still praying very hard hoping that God can use his miracles on him.

He is now going for radiation and going to start chemo next week. We all standing by him and we all praying very hard for him, to keep him strong to help him through this hard times and that God will  heal him.

One thing that I have learned is how God uses our prayers together to get us closer and closer with one another.

It is still a sensitive matter and do not want to tell to much of what is happening.

But please any prayers in this world will be such a blessing.

Update on Banting.

I started the banting diet and followed it to the tiny details. For four weeks that I did it, I did not loose weight or cm, infact I ended up having GERD very badly.

So in short I just want to say that Banting is still new, it's not for everyone and does not work for everyone. It did not work for me but a little for my husband but he is not disciplined like I am.

So I left it and now just eating healthy, and next week I am going to join a weigh group, where you get to weigh yourself for more motivation.

Garden update.....

This year garden I started to plan different things. I planted more veggies thay we use a lot on our kicthen for food. And also I worked in Sand to make the geound looser and easier for vegetables to grow! I am disspointed that I did not follow the moon garden as I can see some veggies are struggling to grow now. But I am planning to add some fertiliser for some extra nutrients that the plants need. 

Somw colourful carrots thay I harvested this year. 

My herb garden is growinh beautiful! My Basil is a bit slow. 

Awesome to have such a useful garden.

Reino's Birthday Party 2015

This year, under the circumstances I created a beautiful birthday party for my husband with closest family and friends. 

I decided to go for a burger braai, the whole Idea was for everyone to create your own burger in a basket, eat with your hands and throw away your paper wraping. 

I went with the Rustic theme with cactus plants for decor. 

I made a bigger roof shade with cheap material and stitch them together. Luckily our yard is smallish and was easy to tie to create a bigger shade roof than a gazebo. And on the place side. It gave such a nice atmosphere. 

I created a bar station outside with old wine crates. The station hold some refreshing water for guest as well as homemade peach ice tea I made. 

All the glasses, cups and ice came here. 

I laud the table inside where you made your burger. As space was limited outside. 

I had salad, cole slaw, caramelized onions, cheese, mushroom sauces with condiments such as tomato sauces, mustard, sweet chili sauce and burger relish. 

I placed condiments in bottles with spoons to give a better look than those horrible bottles. 

I served the chips in packets that was easy to grab for the guest with their burgers. In the end it looked something like this. 

The brithday boy of the year. Got his wish. A pressure washer. Now he can wash the cars! 

I made a sweet tables. With store bought sweets as also a snack. Was awesome goodies. I presented some on my cake stand and an old vintage plate for colour effect and sweets in a basket.

Kievietskroon wine tasting tour....Robertson Valley

What a lovely day, tasting all our favourite wines of our favourite wine valley in Pretoria with our best friends! 

Robertson Wine Festival was held at a beautiful venue Kieviets Kroon. 

We started the day with a lovely bottle of Blush by Bon Courage one of out favourite wine farms. 

Then the wine tasting started. We learned a lot of wines that we didn't get to explore yet. And was so nice to see what wine farms we want to visit this year. Some of our favourite wine farms were; Rooiberg, Viljoensdrift, De Wetshof,  Bon Courage, Springfield and Van Loveren.
