Making Pasta.

Okay so I love cooking! Everyone knows that. I should really start bloggingg about cooking  but tend to forget to take photos. But maybe that a good thing, maybe one day I can make my own cookbook.

Okay I have been dreading to buy a pasta machine for the last 2 years I think.
But tend to put it off because of its price so I have heard it was extremely expensive. And one day I made pasta for me and my husband. Without the machine and it was super nice! But you need that machine.  Experiments are just endless.

So here I am making pasta whithout the pasta machine, you have to roll it as thin as possible. BUT it just not thin enough. But still delicious.

My pasta.

So the next week I have been wanting to, wanting to and went to look and found one at a very good price and bought it for myself as a gift from me to me!!!!

Its pretty cool the top part slides in and out. So you can remove it when not in used.

So I made pasta again.... And was the best ever pasta!

Its was thin and fluffy. When cooked it just melted in my mouth! Was amazing.

Enjoy.

My Knitting cake for a granny...

So my other famous or not so famous talent is sugar crafting.  Shhhhh.......

Yes this one I sort of keep a secret because people want me to make them these pretty things, but these pretty things takes a lot of my time and cost money and people are not always willing to pay for that. People really have no idea how much time goes into a cake. This cake took me 9 hours to make. Luckily I didnt bake the cake..... Yes only the decorations took me 9 hours.

So I made a knitting cake for a granny who loves knitting for her  80th birthday and must add pretty proud of myself!

Buttons...

Wool in the making...

Final cake!

What you think? Pretty cool!

Mothersday!

Mothersday is a special day! I think as a little girl you just love your mom and her stuff. Her smells, her smiles, her handbag and of course her dressing table. I always remember my mom looking her best always no matter what. Always has makeup done and lips with a lovely perfume and jewellery. So elegant like a mom should be and still is today. I also remember my mom spending a lot of time in the kitchen and also telling me about her mom.

This time I got to spend time with my mom in the morning as we had a birthday party planned later.

I laid a beautiful table with the amazing roses in the garden.

Took out my royal tea set for tea. My moms favourite tea is earl grey. Look at this super cool milktart that I bought(sorry didn't bake).

I did bake my famous cheese muffins for breakfast. But forgot to take a picture of that.

What a lovely morning. Special moments.

Love my mom. So beautiful! So Special!

The harvest festival!

We decided to be spontaneous this weekend and decided to do something a bit exciting because I love Wine!!!

So we got us tickets for the Harvest Festival to do some wine tasting at Leriba Lodge.

Whoooohooo

We got our own glasses at the entrance.

(Add photo)

We started touring the wines. They had wine from van loveren, asara, la motte, jc le roux, haute caberer, stellenbosch hills, excelsior. These where among my favorites. I got to taste some new trending cultivats that was very interesting.

I got to buy some olive tapenade. Which was a lovely addition to my kicthen. I found my dessert wine that I am planning on using on my birthday party.  Surprise I am planning.

After some tasting, we went to the restaurant (Chapeters Restaurant) and wach ate a gourmet burger.

And then I was sitting there almost getting this feeling of being overseasand enjoying   the atmosphere. Then I had to be reminded that we are still in South Africa.... We ask for the bill 7 times from 5 different people. 😞. Finally the bill came, wrong bill. Waited again. Got the bill again. Again the wrong order. 😳 waited again. Got the bill for the 3rd time. Again the wrong bill!!! 😡😭 we literally left the money on the table for them to figure out! And left.

But all in all was nice to get out and enjoy the day with my husband.

Mabula Lodge. Romantic weekend away.

17 April

We were so blessed by a weekend away into the bush at Mabula. It was so so good just to spend time away and alone with my husband. We enjoyed the peacefullnes so much and felt totally rewined when we came back.

We arrived in Load shedding time, was complete darkness on friday night. But after we got to unpack and get the fire started in the awesome place, we braaied some braai broodtjies and wors.

The next morning we awoke with this amazing view.

There are animals all around you. Squirrels, birds etc

We got ready and went to explore the place a bit. Awesome place for kiddies and family as well.

Here was the view by our private pool in our game camp.

Just when we arrived back at the lodge, it started raining. And we made a brunch had some lovely food. We then indulges in some bird watching and blankets.

These are Natal Francolin's

After a lovely nap. We started with our food late lunch time to prevent being stick with load shedding again. Started with a good red wine that was perfect and complimenting the weather. And then of course Roosterkoek with our braai.

Our fire we started.

We cuddled inside the warm lodge. And looked at our fire through the glass. Shame my poor hubby was braaing in the rain. He seemed to enjoy it a lot.

The next mroning we had some biscuits and coffee. Sad to go home today. We decided to go walk through the place again. We dis walk through a reptile place, but never took photos, waa abit creepy and old.

Afterwards we enjoyed a cuppa hot choc at the main lodge.

Strangest thing is when we had to start packing and go home the sun came out and was the perfect weather!!!

Just before packing we enjoyed a glass of whiskey enjoying our scenery for the last time outside before going home. I also made some jaffles for lunch and could peacefully sit outside in the warm sun.

Just leaving the place we saw this littlw baby hornbill, very freindly and not scared at all.

These were some of the wild we got to spot in these 2 and a half days.

We were superly blessed and so thankful for this weekend away. We are so thankfull for the people that gave us this weekend.

Had a lovely time spending time with one another and learning new things everyday! I love learning.
