Dating... What it means to me!?

Dating is something one should do from meeting for the first time through to "death do us part".

Seriously, I cannot tell you how much I enjoy talking to my fiancé, I love to sit down with him and enjoy an conversation with not interruptions of tv, iphone's or whatever could be a distraction and just talk talk talk like forever. We always have things to talk about.

This can be done in all sorts of forms, dinner date at a restaurant, walk to a park, movies and wine at home or even just a random outing somewhere.

I must say the dates that dont count as dates where we love to just sit and chat would usually be coming back from the gym and just chat in the car, before we go inside and have loads to do. My otherfavourite  is after dinner. And also before church, we usually leave early and have 10 - 15 min in the car to chat.

But talking about dating, it can be planned or in the spare of the moment as well. As we in a tight budget becuase of the wedding we dont really have money to spend left right and centre. Lol and we were really feeling like a date and having some fun! So I had these amazing Belgium  chocolate in the cuboard, some great red wine "Spier Pinotage" and we been wanting to watch "we're the millers" in like forever. So there was some few lit candles and a lovely soft blanket to cuddle under, great wine pairing with chocolate and a great movie that made us laugh so hard.

Such a stupid idea turned out to be a pretty awesome, fun evening!

We should always try and date make it part of our routine for the rest of your life! Spice it up, google new ideas, make a list to tick of as you go along! Never stop dating doesnt matter how busy your life gets - life it too short to not make time for  each other.

Tips to everyone out there, whom has children and babies keeping you busy or a job stressing you out and taking all your time, try as hard as possible and just go on a date, make time for talking! Its so so important! Even if it sounds silly - turns out fun!

Marriage is Team Work

I found this quote on Pinterest somewhere a while back. It meant to much to me, that I actually added into our wedding invitation.

"Marriage is about becoming a team. You are going to spend the rest of your life learning about each other, and every now and then, things blow up. But the beauty of marriage is that if you picked the right person and you both love each other, you'll always figure out a way to get through it." Nicolas Sparks.

Its so true, when you get married, you are not just a couple but also a team, this "team" plays a big role in your marriage, this is where you both communicate, discuss to work as a team to reach to the other point where you want to be. This you need to use not only when arguing, but also when you have a baby or two one day, also when discussing finances, even silly things like grocery shopping (you have a budget and what list of groceries do you need). I know some men, in fact a lot of men don't discuss finances with their wives that are stay at home mom's, or men is probably not going to discuss the grocery list with you but this is so important for team work in a marriages!!! Don't ever think its small, and not important to discuss.

Team work also mean 100/100 not 50/50!!! There is not 50/50 or meet me half way in a marriage, you both must give your 100/100 in everything... yes including sex (blushing), parenting, communications, affection, love, dating, helping around the house whatever your arrangement is in the house and in between you.

We must remember life is never the same, one person does not always stay the same, inside and outside. We are ALL constantly changing, hopefully for the better not the worst!! Marriage does have their ups and downs but the downs only makes your marriage stronger! Things always changes in marriages especially when one gets older, you not going to going to stay the same like in the 20's, especially if you have children, not all the bodies get back into sexy shapes after having babies. Then you reach that age where everything sags, yes that one also comes. And remember your husband also goes through a "manopause stage" not just us ladies, men usually too proud to admit.

Small things we must always remember and take in consideration of our partner. Accept and be grateful what you have!!

When things blow up, love each other and sort it out! Life is way to short to fight all the time.

This is a quote to keep in your bible just to remind you now and again, its team work. When you get off the trail, at times (too busy or a bad time) go to your bible and read this as well as the scripture's from "Being a Godly Wife" sometimes you just needed to be reminded again.

Marriage is hard work as a team, it is not be taken lightly but much more serious than most of us take it. :))

Finding to be a Godly Wife to your Husband.

Since I have been engaged..... Which is now fairly a long time. We got engaged on 5th October 2011. Now almost 3 years! I think its a good thing. We got to know each other better and learn so much   more out of our relationship. Went to live in another country (Namibia will talk more about that soon) and back in South Africa. Now... Financially ready, we are getting married this year!

But the point is I want to become the perfect wife my husband is going to need - its not easy but hey the bible never said anything is easy. It comes with a lot of hard work and dedication. I came across this amazing post by Danielle Butler. She is an amaing woman, wrote about being a " Godly wife" I could not have written this better ever. You can read the post here"Being Godly Wife" by Danielle
Thanks to Danielle that I can share this. :))

Everything she says is true. We really should do all that for our husbands.
I have an amazing man who is always there for me, always makes me a better person!

I cant wait for our pre marital course going to be something to learn from.

Will share more about this soon.

Fondue night. 4 July 2014

This night we had awesome friends over for some awesome fun!

So I planned on (actually my awesome fiancé) having an fondue evening. It really creates an awesome atmosphere of drinking wine, cooking your food, chatting and having lots of fun! What we call a "lekker kuier".

I like a meat fondue ( cheese fondue, im sure is nice but way to rich for me)! I know a meat fondue is not your healthiest choice   which is really why we do it once a year.... Okay maybe twice a year! But hell you only live once right!?

Okay so what I usually do is have number of bowls out (number of people) so we were 4 poeple so I had 4 bowls out. Then I usually cut up good aged beef steak into blocks and share them between four bowls. Then I usually cut up pork with the fat part as well. Some guest will cut it off some will eat it! So we proudly South africans! We love our meat. Then I usually have small cheese grillers but couldnt get so I used cocktail viennas. Here you can basically even use the thin boerewors and cut up into small peices. The choice is yours.

I make an awesome special secret sauce that originally come from my mom. Its a homemade pink mayo type of sauce. I usually serve as a dip with the cooked meat. (Awesome flavours there)!!

Then I usually have a potato dish of my choice. With a lovely greek salad.

Cheers!

Our fondue pot! Here Bernard lost his piece!

My awesome friend Monique with her special love Bernard!

Cant wait to get married to you! You are my everything. Thankyou for being such a great man for me! Im totally speechless with words. I thank God everyday for giving me such a wonderful gift!

P.S. Safety Precautions!!!! Please dont do fondue around young kids (unless you decide so) accidents happen so quickly! And you work with hot oil! One should be sure your station is stable and nothing can be bumped over! Please please check when you put your meat on the fondue stick, you don't want to stick your hand with it! TALKING from experiance guys! Have strict rules when havinig visitors. And limit the amount of people you invite. I am comfortable with another couple! 4 poeple is seriously enough and safe!
